On Thursday, Barrie was in Exeter delivering a paper at the Beyond The Book symposium. Organised by the Devon Guild of Craftsmen it ties in with the exhibition of the same name (which runs until Sunday 8th June):http://www.crafts.org.uk/current-exhibition.aspxHe was ‘Speaker Number One’, and inadvertently set the tone for the day with his Chip Kidd quote about ‘the comfort of thingy-ness’.Also speaking were Ellen Bell, Su Blackwell, Susan Kruse, Dr. Misha Myers, Tom Bevan and Tom Sowden. A fascinating, thought provoking day.
