Book Description

Over a period of 10 days various pieces of plastic debris was collected from the shoreline and sea at Myrtos beach in Kefalonia, Greece. These pieces of plastic form the basis of a concertina book which highlights the issue of plastic pollution within the world’s oceans.

 

Using both monoprint and takuhon processes, impressions of each object are printed using tones of blue and green to reflect the crystal, clear turquoise water of Myrtos. The book is contained within a translucent slip case with19 punched holes representing the amount of plastic found within each sq cm of ocean.
